The purpose of physical therapy is to increase mobility and movement, decrease pain, restore function, and prevent any disability in those patients with any injuries and impairments. This is accomplished by the use of modalities, active and passive stretching, participating in an exercise program and manual therapy. Our Nassau County patients are taught the proper body mechanics, postural awareness and home exercise programs to maintain their current condition and to avoid making the condition worse in the future.
We offer many weight machines to improve patients’ strength as well as cardio to increase endurance. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is very beneficial for diagnosing a many types of conditions. It is safe, painless and non-invasive, and utilizes magnetism and radio waves to produce detailed images used to evaluate various parts of the body and diagnosis certain diseases which may not be visible with other imaging methods such as x-ray, ultrasound or CT (Computed Tomography).*
