División de Fisioterapia

Physical Therapy is used to encourage mobility and movement, decrease pain, restore function and prevent disability in patients with injuries or impairments.* This is achieved through the use of modalities, active and passive stretching, engaging in an exercise program, and manual therapy. Patients are taught proper body mechanics, postural awareness, and home exercise programs to provide maintenance of their current condition and to avoid exacerbations in the future. New York Spine Institute offers an array of weight machines to improve strength, in addition to cardio apparatuses for endurance training. Patients will be evaluated by a licensed physical therapist to determine their current level of function, pain intensity, and restrictions with their activities of daily living. Our Physical Therapists will discuss the treatment options available to the patient based on the findings from the initial evaluation and set realistic goals in conjunction with the patient to receive the most optimal regimen.*
