As Co-Director, Alexa works closely with Center Director Dr. Peter Passias, a world-renowned spinal surgeon. Alexa works closely with every family and patient. Patients are always informed and treated with respect and dignity. Patients have access to doctors and staff any time before, during and after procedures. For all patients, especially those with severe or chronic conditions, the Center’s staff is committed to lifetime support and care.
Dr. Forman earned a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Stony Brook University and a Masters Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the Columbia University School of Nursing. She works directly with patients to ensure quality and consistent care, as well as prepare them before surgery and manage their recovery and rehabilitation.
Prior to joining NYSI, she served as a Doctor of Nursing Practice for the NYU Langone Orthopedics Center for Musculoskeletal Care. Her experience also includes working as a pediatric nurse at NYU Langone Health and a nurse practitioner at the Hospital for Special Surgery and the Matrix Medical Network. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Virginia.
