Michael Friar, D.P.T., a highly skilled and educated physical therapist here at the NYSI is committed to providing effective physical therapy treatments which include proper stretching, exercise, and manual therapy. He is committed to helping patients improve their health, by familiarizing them with their own body mechanics and postural awareness, as well as offering instruction on how to perform home exercises which, over time, will contribute to their healing and help to avoid a re-injury.
We combine the use of cardio and weight machines to help target strength and endurance training as a whole for those patients who are engaged in physical therapy. One of our licensed physical therapists will evaluate and assess you before you can begin a PT program. This assessment assists doctors in determining current functioning levels, pain thresholds and physical restrictions that may affect daily activities. Once the evaluation process has been completed, Michael Friar, D.P.T., will design and develop a treatment plan specific to your individual health goals.
IMAGING SERVICES FOR SYOSSET PATIENTS
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) are useful for diagnosing many conditions. It is safe and noninvasive, and helps NYSI to uphold its mission of treating patients with high quality comfort. The digital radiology department allows the radiologist to analyze images for bone and soft tissue anatomy. NYSI diagnostic imaging provides individualized care as well as state-of-the-art diagnostics.

MRIs are safe and noninvasive, and allow radiologists to analyze images of both bone and soft tissue anatomy. Our state of the art diagnostic imaging here at the NYSI contributes to the overall care of each of our patients. This diagnostic imaging equipment consists of a high field short bore 1.5T MRI system and a Digital Radiography (DX) x-ray, with the 1.5T system supporting multiple clinical applications such as MRI’s of the Spine, Brain, Abdomen, Pelvis, Shoulder, Knee, Hip, Elbow, Wrist, Hand, Ankle and Foot.* Here at the clinic, our radiology department is also equipped with Long Length Imaging (LLI), used for performing scoliosis assessments. The high quality, detailed pictures of anatomy and pathology provide insight needed by doctors in their evaluations of various musculoskeletal disorders.
