PHYSICAL THERAPY

PT is designed to enhance movement and mobility, serves to decrease pain, help to restore function, and can limit disability in individuals with impairments or injuries.

Michael Friar, D.P.T., a renowned physical therapist here at the NYSI, leads our team of highly advanced spine doctors and neck specialists in providing physical therapy treatments specific to individual needs. PT includes proper stretching, exercise, and manual therapy and often information on body mechanics, postural awareness, and home exercises.

Cardio and weight machines are combined in order to target strength and endurance training. Dr. Friar and his renowned team perform assessments that aid in determining current patient functioning levels, pain threshold and physical restrictions that affect daily activities all of which are necessary to prescribe customized back pain treatment plans that help our patients meet their health goals.

IMAGING SERVICES FOR MANHASSET PATIENTS

Here in the Manhasset facility of the NYSI, we are equipped with state of the art, innovative imaging and diagnostic equipment. With a brand new 1.5T Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system our neck surgeons and back specialists have available to them high quality pictures of the anatomy including the spine, brain, abdomen, pelvis, shoulder, knee, hip, elbow, wrist, hand, ankle and foot, which aids in performing accurate diagnoses and customizing treatment plans. Further, we are equipped with Digital Radiography (DX) x-rays, ultrasounds, CT (Computer Tomography), and Long Length Imaging (LLI) which is used for assessing forms of scoliosis.

Our primary focus is on prescribing personalized treatment plans for all our patients, and on the betterment of their health. We provide care and comfort to our patients with our back pain specialists and spine doctors taking great pride in the relaxing and comfortable atmosphere we provide.
