Our licensed physical therapist Michael Friar, D.P.T., has the care and compassion to help get you back on your feet and provide you with top physical therapy treatment. While with us you will be taught and instructed on proper stretching, exercise, and manual therapy techniques. We take the time to make sure you understand each technique, along with your bodies mechanics in order to continue your treatment at home. Our physical therapy treatment helps the healing process as well as helps prevent further injury.
At NYSI patients will have access to different weight machines and cardio devices for strength and endurance training to help in their physical therapy treatment. Their pain and mobility levels will be tested in order to determine a customized plan. Michael Friar, D.P.T. will review your treatment options based on the findings from your initial exam. Working closely with the patient we create a treatment plan that is realistic and will help achieve both long and short term goals.
IMAGING SERVICES FOR VALHALLA PATIENTS
To continue our mission to provide our Valhalla patients with top comfort and care, we are happy to provide our patients with Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), a safe, painless, and noninvasive form of testing. In our digital radiology department our radiologists can analyze the images produced from an MRI which show bone and soft tissue anatomy.
New York Spine Institute offers high quality diagnostic imaging: a high field short bore 1.5T MRI system and Digital Radiography (DX) x-ray for our patients in Valhalla. This state-of-the-art high field short bore 1.5T MRI system supports a variety of clinical applications, some of which include MRI’s of the Spine, Brain, Abdomen, Pelvis, Shoulder, Knee, Hip, Elbow, Wrist, Hand, Ankle and Foot.*
New York Spine Institute’s brand new GE 1.5T system provides our physicians with high quality, detailed pictures of anatomy and pathology, helping them to examine a variety of musculoskeletal disorders. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a valuable tool for diagnosing a variety of conditions. This test is safe, painless, and non-invasive making it ideal for many patients. It uses magnets and radio waves to produce detailed images of the body which can help detect certain diseases. As opposed to other imaging methods like x-ray, ultrasound, or CT (Computed Tomography) MRI’s can show a broader range of conditions.*
While undergoing your MRI you will be treated with complete comfort and care, offering you your choice of music, earplugs, and a sleeping mask to make the environment as calm as possible. We are also equipped with a digital radiography department. With this department the captured images are digitized and our radiologists can analyze bone and some soft tissue anatomy for diagnosis. We also provide Long Length Imaging (LLI) for in depth scoliosis testing.
