IMAGING SERVICES FOR WEST BABYLON PATIENTS
The state of the art radiology department here at the NYSI includes a high field short bore 1.5T Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system. This system is effective in diagnosing many conditions and supports a wide range of clinical applications including, but not limited to, MRIs of the spine, brain, abdomen, pelvis, shoulder, hip, knee, elbow, wrist, hand, ankle and foot*. The MRI system is safe and noninvasive, and is used by our doctors for providing comfortable treatment to patients. This new GE 1.5T MRI system provides high quality, detailed pictures of anatomy and pathology to our physicians that aid in their efforts to help evaluate a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders.
Utilizing magnetism and radio waves to produce detailed images used to evaluate various parts of the body and determine the presence of certain diseases which may not be visible with other imaging methods such as x-ray, ultrasound or CT (Computed Tomography)* the MRI system is an effective, innovative tool that is critical to our team’s ability to analyze, diagnose and assess a wide range of disorders.
Our radiology department is also equipped with a digital radiography department that is used to capture digital images. These images allow the radiologist to analyze bone and soft tissue anatomy for diagnosis. Additional equipment within our radiology department includes Long Length Imaging (LLI) for proper scoliosis assessment as well.
