Minimally invasive relief from spinal fractures—close to home in the Bronx.
What Are Kyphoplasty and Vertebroplasty?
Both procedures are minimally invasive treatments for spinal compression fractures:
- Kyphoplasty involves inserting and inflating a small balloon inside the fractured vertebra to create space. Medical-grade cement is then injected to stabilize the bone and restore lost vertebral height.
- Vertebroplasty skips the balloon and injects cement directly into the fractured bone to reinforce it and relieve pain.
These outpatient treatments use tiny incisions and fluoroscopic imaging for precision—offering faster recovery and less discomfort than traditional surgery.
