Restore Strength and Mobility at NYSI Bronx

If sudden back pain, loss of height, or a stooped posture is affecting your daily life, you may be suffering from a vertebral compression fracture—often linked to osteoporosis, aging, or minor trauma. At New York Spine Institute, we offer kyphoplasty in the Bronx and vertebroplasty—advanced outpatient procedures that relieve pain, stabilize fractures, and help you regain independence.

Located at 1200 Waters Place, Suite M105, our Bronx office provides expert, compassionate spine care to patients throughout Morris Park, Pelham Bay, Throgs Neck, and surrounding neighborhoods.

What Are Kyphoplasty and Vertebroplasty?

Both procedures are minimally invasive treatments for spinal compression fractures:

  • Kyphoplasty involves inserting and inflating a small balloon inside the fractured vertebra to create space. Medical-grade cement is then injected to stabilize the bone and restore lost vertebral height.
  • Vertebroplasty skips the balloon and injects cement directly into the fractured bone to reinforce it and relieve pain.

These outpatient treatments use tiny incisions and fluoroscopic imaging for precision—offering faster recovery and less discomfort than traditional surgery.

Who Is a Candidate for Treatment?

You may benefit from vertebroplasty or kyphoplasty in the Bronx if you have:

  • Sudden or worsening mid-to-lower back pain after a minor fall or strain

  • Diagnosed osteoporosis with a suspected spinal fracture

  • Noticeable loss of height or a forward-curved posture

  • Difficulty walking, standing, or sleeping due to back pain

  • Little or no relief from pain medications or bracing

Prompt treatment not only eases pain—it can also prevent future fractures and reduce spinal deformity.
