Frank's Biography

Dr. Francis “Frank” McCormick, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic sports medicine surgeon with advanced expertise in arthroscopic treatment of the shoulder, hip, and knee, as well as cartilage preservation and joint restoration. He is recognized for treating complex musculoskeletal conditions using evidence-based, minimally invasive techniques tailored to each patient’s goals and activity level.

Dr. McCormick earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Following medical school, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy, completing his surgical internship at Naval Medical Center San Diego before serving as an F/A-18 Fighter Jet Flight Surgeon with the United States Marine Corps. He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency through the prestigious Harvard Combined Orthopedic Residency Program, where he was selected as Chief Resident at Massachusetts General Hospital.

He pursued advanced subspecialty training with a highly competitive Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at Rush University, followed by the International Cartilage Repair Society (ICRS) Sanofi Traveling Fellowship, focusing on cartilage regeneration and joint preservation. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. McCormick has held academic appointments and contributed extensively to orthopedic research, peer-reviewed publications, and national presentations.
