Understanding the Causes of Your Soft Tissue Injury
Soft tissue injuries can be categorized as either an acute injury or an overuse injury.
- Acute Injury: This type of injury is often caused by a sudden trauma (like a fall or blow to the body). Examples include strains, sprains or contusions.
- Overuse Injury: This injury can occur over time and most commonly in athletic or repetitive actions where an injury does not have the opportunity to heal naturally. Common examples include tendinitis or bursitis.
