SPINE SURGERY & CARE IN SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY

There are various types of spine disorders including fractures, herniated or diseased discs, infection, or injury. Most commonly, these spine disorders translate into the same thing: back pain or neck pain. When someone experiences this pain, it may seem difficult trying to determine the cause. This is where New York Spine Institute locations serving Suffolk County come in. When you see one of our back and neck doctors, we’ll use medical, modern diagnostics to determine the cause of your pain. Then, we will offer you advanced, effective neck and back pain treatments to relieve you of your discomfort and get you back to your normal level of function.*

Despite what you may think, spine surgery, which includes back and cervical (neck) surgery, is only recommended for a small number. Those patients for whom surgery is appropriate have back or neck problems and conservative treatments have failed. When most patients receive surgery, the spine surgeons perform operations that relieve continuous pain from pinched nerves or loss of function from a spinal cord compression or mechanical instability of the spine.

Types of Spinal Surgeries we offer our Suffolk County patients:

At New York Spine Institute, you can be confident in your medical care because it will be directed by a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with specialization in spine surgery and advanced training in bone and neurological disorders of the spine. Our back surgeons have much experience helping patients in Suffolk County and the Greater New York City area with their back pain treatment so they can return to their normal lives. In addition to great medical care, our back specialists and neck specialists and staff will give you the respect, patience, and understanding you expect. “I was having severe chronic back pain daily. This went on for almost fifteen years. As soon as I met Dr. Macagno I said, “that’s the guy.” I eventually had a spinal fusion L4/5 and S1. This was a ten-hour procedure. I exceeded both Dr. Macagno and the hospital staff expectations. Instead of walking a few steps, I easily walked the full length of the hospital halls and climbed stairs almost immediately after surgery. I am so happy to have met Dr. Macagno. I sing his praises every day and I always post on social media about how amazing I am doing every year on the anniversary of my surgery.”

Dr.v is a great doctor !!! From day one he has accessed and managed my pain while acknowledging me not only as his patient but as a person as well. Every Dr office should have a Dr. V and the world for patients with pain would be a much better place. I haven’t had a Dr this great since Dr de Mourra who did my surgery In 2013. Thank you Dr de Mourra for referring me to a pain management dr who really cares for my needs as his patient. It has been a tough road . I can now honestly say the road I travel now as a pain patient is much smoother and manageable. Thank you Dr v and NYU.
